Integrated Command and Control Database course
Course description
Technical course during which trainees learn how to set up ICC (OPS perspective, not CIS).
Eligibility
NATO service members required to set up ICC as database administrator.
Course notes
This course id driven by multiple practical exercises. The lead strategy is to give students the opportunity to learn and train on the main ICC database management features and modules. The course is divided into four main blocks. Each block starts with a basic approach, then leads to increasingly more refined and advanced exercises. The course staff guides the trainees through each block and monitors their understanding and ability to conduct the different exercises to certify their porficiency level at the end of the course.
Aim of the course
Learn the main functionalities of ICC in database management. After attending this course, students will have an understanding on how to use the main features and modules of database/users management, and therefor be prepared to assume their duties as ICC Database administrator within a JFAC HQ or in a NATO exercise.
Learning objectives
- ICC OVERVIEW (Understand the development of the ICC program, understand the system architecture & user management, understand the evolution of C2 systems in NATO) ;
- ICC DBADMIN TOOL (Understand what is an ICC database and its content, comprehend the database management concept with the different tools) ;
- MANAGING USERS AND PERMISSIONS (Understand how to create and manage users, comprehend and manipulate the concepts of user profiles and permissions, understand how to manage security through agencies' concepts and IP adresses) ;
- PREPARING ICC FOR AIR OPS (Understand the data dependencies in ICC databases, apprehend the concept of fixed/ops data and ops products, understand how to prepare an OPS allocation with these data) ;
- ICC LINKS (Understand the ICC links concept, how to administrate lionks, apprehend the ICC link interface) ;

Subjective practical exercise.
Course language
English (SPL 2222 minimum).

Prerequisite
- Completion of JFAC OCB course or equivalent ;
- Completion of ICC user course or equivalent.
