Doctrine development and Standards

Educate and train NCS and NFS personnel on NATO Air Operations doctrine.

 

Analysis and Lessons learned

Collect and analyse lessons learned from NATO, Alliance nations and Partner operations and exercises in the field of Air C2 and air operations, in order to improve Alliance doctrine and procedures, in close cooperation with the JALLC and JAPCC.

 

Concept development and Experimentation

Contribute to the development of concepts on the future of air operations, integrating innovative technologies and new processes and also contribute to the testing and development of new NATO Air C2 systems and the development of new technology-based tools in support of Alliance transformation.

 

Education and Training

The Education and Training (E&T) division is in charge of supporting the education and training of NATO Command Structure (NCS) and NATO Force Structure (NFS) personnel in the Air Operations (AO) discipline. The full spectrum of AO is covered, from Air C2 tools to AO planning. The E&T division delivers 10 NATO individual training activities, among which four are approved, and six are listed according to NATO Education and Training Exercise and Evaluation (ETEE).

 

Department Head

The Air C2 Systems Department Head (DH) is an appointment within NATOs Global Programming Governance Structure responsible for the translation of the Air Operations Discipline E&T requirements into E&T solutions, and for the coordination of the solutions.
